Them Dukes in Hades

Today we present a sketch (from memory) of the
legendary lost episode of The Dukes of Hazzard,
entitled "Them Dukes in Hades".

In the episode, Boss Hogg threatens to foreclose on
the Dukes farm if the they don't come up with the
millions of dollars they owe for all of the destruction
they have been responsible for over the years.
While the Duke boys brainstorm, Uncle Jesse sneaks off
and makes a deal with Satan himself. Satan gives him
a recipe for the finest moonshine ever made. The
moonshine is a hit and the farm is saved.

Unfortunately, Uncle Jesse did not read the
fine print on his contract and finds that he cannot
pay old Scratch what he owes. The Hoary Host of
the Nether World decides to invoke a special clause in the
contract and claims Daisy for his own. She is to
become Queen of Hades.

When the Duke boys find out what has happened they
hop in the General Lee and head straight to Hell.
They must battle hordes of demons and jump the Lake of Fire
in order to get Daisy back and save Uncle Jesse's immortal soul.

The episode only aired once.

Due to pressure from religious groups, it was
yanked from the syndication roster and
was never seen again.

New Blog Announcement!

When I started this blog, I decided that it should be a general
audience blog and would not feature any nudity.
My sketchbooks, however, seem to be brimming with lots of
somewhat naughty images.

With that in mind, I came to the conclusion that I should start a
new blog showcasing the racier side of my work.

And here it is:

SKINSVILLE!

I hope you enjoy it. :)

Crenshaw

Introducing Crenshaw
A little man from Mars
He hails from outer space
From just beyond the stars

He means us no harm
He just wants to make friends
That, and drink coffee
(Exotic blends)

He enjoys a good story
Or even a joke
Despite his appearance
He's a regular bloke

So, if you should see him
Flash him a smile
And invite him inside
To chat for a while

From that point on
When you look at the stars
You'll think of ol' Crenshaw
Your new friend from Mars

Space Robot

I was painting a frame as a housewarming gift last night
and found myself with some paint left over. I decided,
rather than waste it, I would use it to paint my Space
Robot image that had been lingering in the sketch
phase on a piece of canvas board.

Below is a detail of the piece.

This piece is available
for purchase at Artville.

Nannette & the Chimp

It was the #4 hit show of 1965!
Nannette & the Chimp debuted on Sept. 8th, 1965
on ABC after a long and troubled production. Star,
Rita Leftkowitz, complained numerous times about the
grabby nature of her co-star, Boogles the chimp. This led
to many scenes having to be re-shot in order to pass the censor board.
In addition, several members of the crew were fired after
pointing out that Boogles was, in fact a monkey, not a chimp.

The show, a half hour sitcom set in France, concerned the wacky
mis-adventures of Nannette, a practitioner of the worlds oldest
profession, who finds herself the guardian of a wayward chimp
named Henri. The unlikely twosome got each other in and out
of trouble on a weekly basis while always finding ways to
remain friends.

Rita's va-va-voom figure and Boogles' hilarious hi-jinks shot
the show to #4 where it stayed for two seasons.

The show was canceled after Boogles became embroiled in a
scandal involving the pet poodle of guest actress, Betty Spork.
The producers tried to find a new chimp to play Henri, but none
of the contenders possessed Boogles' special magic.

Rita Leftkowitz went on to star in Shawna, the Jungle Queen
until her tragic death in 1969, when she was
swallowed by an errant boa constrictor during a break in filming.

The first season of Nannette & the Chimp will be
available soon on DVD and Blu-ray.

Hammer Posters

A few years back, I got the idea in my noggin'
to create poster-style, photo based images derived
from the films of the House of Hammer.

It never got past the sketch stage seen here.
(Oh, ambition, why have yee forsaken me?)

Curse of Frankenstein (1957)
