Ezra

This is Ezra. He has one eye . . . and spots.
He is somewhat shy. His favorite movie is
"The Band Wagon" starring Fred Astaire.

IF-Remember . . .

This is my first entry for Illustration Friday.
The topic is "Remember".

My apologies to John Wayne.

Beatniks!

Like, these cats are way gone, man.
Three of the coolest fools in Foolsville.

Murry

Meet a guy that goes by the name Murry
Who spends most of his life in a hurry
Sketching him was a blast
But, since he runs so darn fast,
You'd think I'd have drawn him more blurry

Sad Little Alien

This little alien is very sad.

Is it because he is lonely and
has no friends?

Or is it because he meant to
conquer the human race, but
accidently left the house without
his Atomic Disrupter ™ and
now has to return to his home
planet and explain why he,
once again, has failed such a
simple assignment?

Perhaps the former, perhaps
the latter. Either way he
looks like he could use a hug.

Aah, Venice!

The background is from a photo ref.
Alas, the girl is but a dream. *Sigh*

[Bonus points if you know the name of
the movie I took the title from.]

Janelle

Janelle is out for a stroll
when she stops to check
out a flier handed to her
by a passer-by.

Will this simple act spell
her DOOM?

Probably not.

Happy Easter Art?

I wanted to post something for Easter.
Unfortunately, this was the only bunny
picture I had available. The title of this piece is:

"Demonic Bunny Ruins Dinner . . . Again!"

I may paint this one someday, if the mood strikes me.

Happy Easter, folks!

Even More CD Art

This was the first cover I created for a compilation CD.Yep, that's little ol' me wailin' on the drum.
This Tiki idol also appeared on the disk itself.

The "PC/1957" code under the Tiki Tone label stands
for the late, great Peter Cushing and the year that he
starred in The Curse of Frankenstein for Hammer Films.

CD Art

I enjoy making compilation CDs for friends and family.
The best part is putting together the cover art.
These are examples of how sketches can be incorporated
with digital design/color to create a finished look.

Monsters!

Look out!
Monsters!

Sandy (+ retro bonus art)

These sketches were drawn while I was watching
"If A Man Answers" (1962) starring Sandra Dee and Bobby Darin.

These DVD captures of Sandra
Dee show the outfits that
inspired my sketches.

Bonus Art

These are captures of some of the cool retro art
used during the opening sequence of the film.
The artist is uncredited.
